Collections Executive (12 month Fixed Term Contract) – Chester

Our award winning client is seeking a Collections Assistant to join their successful team based in Chester to undertake collection of overdue accounts, ensuring that all arrears and repossessions cases are actioned promptly, effectively and in a timely manner to maximise recoveries and minimise losses on each case.

Working as part of the Collections team based in our Chester office, our ideal team member doesn’t need to be an experienced Collector, although experience would be beneficial. Instead, you need to be customer service focussed, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and possess a great attitude and a strong desire to learn. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collection of overdue accounts as agreed with the Collections Manager
  • Ensure that arrears are kept below budgeted maximums
  • Corresponding daily with customers via telephone and email to ensure payments are made
  • Advising and providing regular updates to relevant staff of any significant collections case and its progress
  • Maintaining up to date records and allocation of monies
  • Administration of direct debits and preparing arrears reports 
  • Liaise with insurance companies, repossession agents, legal representation and Sales Representatives
  • Root cause analysis of risk events, partnering with operational colleagues to ensure actions are taken to prevent recurrence
  • Management of risk logs, including actively following up outstanding actions
  • Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

  • Have previous experience in collections or in a financial services business
  • You’re customer service focused and an effective communicator both written and verbal 
  • You’re highly numerate with strong analytical abilities 
  • You posses excellent problem solving skills
  • You can prioritise your time and adapt your working style where necessary 
  • You’re a team player
