Job Title: Legal Cashier

Location: Liverpool City Centre

Salary: £28,000

Description:

We currently require an experienced Legal Cashier / Accounts Assistant at our head office in Liverpool City Centre.

Key tasks include

• Dealing with all daily accounting tasks.
• Transaction postings.
• Checking and posting bills.
• Posting of nominal expenses and dealing with branch and department allocations.
• Dealing with bank payments
• Dealing with deposit accounts.
• Bank reconciliations.
• Reviewing, calculating, and applying interest to client balances.
• Reviewing client matters and liaising with fee earners.
• Checking of probate distribution accounts and completion statements.
• Assisting with month end and year end procedures.
• Any other tasks that may reasonably be required.

Experience and Personal Qualities

• The main qualifications for this position are experience of legal cashier / accounts assistant work for a period of time in a firm
• The jobholder must display a pleasant manner in dealing with colleagues, contacts, and clients. Tact and resilience are essential qualities.
• An effective communicator, both numerate and literate.
• Personally efficient, well organised, and competent in the firm’s computer facilities.

Essential Training Requirements:

• You are expected to have a good working knowledge of SARS.
• Good experience and knowledge of legal accounts systems and Microsoft applications.
