Job Role: Multi-skilled Technician
Salary: Up to £32,000 per year (depending on experience)
Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:00pm
About the Role:
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for customer service? We are looking for an experienced Customer Service Multiskilled Technician to join a thriving quality home building business. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering first-class service to customers, addressing maintenance needs with top-notch workmanship, professionalism, and efficiency.
As part of the Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that every visit is a positive experience for our homeowners, providing timely solutions, and maintaining high standards of quality. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a customer-facing role, enjoys variety in their day-to-day work, and can manage tasks autonomously and with attention to detail.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Customer Communication: Clearly explain what will be done and when to the customer, keeping them updated throughout.
  • Appointments: Attend scheduled appointments as directed by the Customer Services team.
  • Materials Preparation: Work closely with the Purchasing Department to source necessary materials ahead of visits.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Effectively manage customer expectations and communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Worksite Preparation: Ensure the property is properly protected before starting any work, including the use of PPE and overshoes.
  • Risk & Safety Compliance: Follow all risk assessments and method statements to ensure work is carried out safely and to standard.
  • Quality Assurance: Complete tasks to the customer’s satisfaction and in line with NHBC standards.
  • Tool Management: Carry and maintain the necessary tools and ensure they are regularly PAT tested.
  • Team Collaboration: Regularly update the Customer Services team on completed work, reasons for delays, and time spent on tasks.
  • Issue Escalation: Report any issues or challenges to the Customer Services team immediately.
  • Material Reporting: Submit weekly receipts for materials used during visits.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute ideas to help improve the business and maintain the company’s strong reputation.
  • Additional Requests: Address customers’ additional work requests and communicate any changes to the Customer Services team.
  • Policy Compliance: Always adhere to the company’s policies, procedures, and instructions.
Requirements:
  • Proven Customer Service Excellence: Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Strong Communication & Organizational Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in Joinery & Carpentry: Practical experience in joinery or carpentry and working with hand and power tools.
  • Self-Motivation: Able to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
  • Punctual & Reliable: A dependable, professional, and cooperative team player.
  • Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
  • IT Proficiency: Competent with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Driving License: A valid full UK Driving License is essential.
  • Professionalism: A polite, professional, and courteous approach at all times.
