Job Title: Purchasing Administrator

Salary: £25,000

Location: Hawarden

Description:

Our client based in Hawarden is currently hiring for a Purchasing Assistant. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will help to maintain the supply inventory levels and negotiate deals with vendors. The Purchasing Assistant will ensure that purchasing policies and procedures are adhered to, creation and communication of purchase orders occurs accurately and on time. You will also be responsible for conducting regular price comparisons to ensure that the company is always getting the best price for each product that is purchased.

The working days are Monday – Friday, working 7.5 hours a day.

Shift times either 08.30am – 4.30pm or 9.00am – 5.00pm

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the company databases with data such as cost, vendor, stock count, MOQ and other purchase order details.
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with vendors communicating needs appropriately.
  • Monitoring product deliveries with issued purchase orders and contacting vendors in order to prevent / correct discrepancies.
  • Ensuring adherence to all company policies and prevailing business regulations
  • Supporting the Supply Chain Manager, Buyer and Procurement team with the creation, communication and filing of appropriate paperwork.
  • Seeking out the most efficient source of supply in line with business requirements.
  • Collaborating with company departments to ensure objectives are facilitated and achieved.

Main Duties

  • Maintain the company databases with data such as cost, vendor, stock count, MOQ and other purchase order details.
  • Create and issue purchase orders to vendors, following the appropriate company purchasing policies.
  • Monitor the status of purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery; and communicate status of orders with internal customers.
  • Source alternate suppliers where required and as part of our continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Provide the Supply Chain Manager and Buyer with monthly performance reports and statistics.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Administer data and paperwork, with attention to detail and the need for accuracy
  • Communicate effectively, knowing how and when to communicate relevantly
  • Confidently communicate with suppliers, on your own or as part of a team.
  • Be a champion for purchasing and related processes with the organisation.

Experience of:

  • Working within a purchasing environment is desirable but training will be given.
  • Working with numbers and technical details
  • Working proficiently with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Working within a team co-operatively
  • Communicating appropriately
  • Supplier negotiation with regards price and lead time.
  • Managing your own time, creating and administering a task priority list based on company needs
