Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Responsibilities include:

  • Support the design, development and testing of electro-mechanical products.
  • Prepare product specifications, technical and test reports to professional standards.
  • Perform fault analysis and technical investigation.
  • Provide supervision and support to junior Engineers.
  • Execute changes to hardware designs driven by factors such as cost down, obsolescence etc.
  • Aid production engineering and production teams on improvements and issues.
  • Support the preparation and conducting of verification activities (e.g. environmental testing)
  • Deliver a high level of professionalism and continuous professional development.
  • Produce detail drawings to BS 8888 and manage drawing changes. Produce 3D designs using SolidWorks.
  • Perform design reviews/checking of drawings to ensure quality standards are met

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – Requirements include:

  • Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design or similar.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer. • Experience of task and issue management
  • Proficient user of SolidWorks
  • Interfacing with customers
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Program management and analytical skills, and the ability to organise information and documentation for internal and external consumption.
  • Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Solid understanding and experience regarding commonly used manufacturing processes including plastic injection-moulding and CNC milling.
