Technical Services Engineer Role Summary

The Continuing Airworthiness Engineer provides a Part M/CAMO Airworthiness Support Function within the Technical Services Department. This role supports the CAMO Manager in maintaining compliance with airworthiness requirements and associated data. It also involves investigating occurrence reports and offering technical assistance to address aircraft technical defects, particularly focusing on avionics and electrical systems.

Technical Services Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update Approved Maintenance Programmes (AMP) by analyzing defects and recommending preventative maintenance actions.
  • Assess airworthiness compliance for aircraft transitioning into or out of the fleet and define any bridging maintenance needs.
  • Conduct evaluations of Airworthiness Directives (AD) and non-mandatory Service Bulletins (SB) and manage their implementation. Generate compliance reports for Airworthiness Reviews (ARCs).
  • Provide technical input for aircraft modifications and configuration changes, ensuring compliance and updating the AMP accordingly.
  • Author maintenance instructions (work cards) to meet airworthiness standards and provide technical assistance to the maintenance planning team.
  • Liaise with aircraft manufacturers for repair schemes and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
  • Support the Line Maintenance Control team with troubleshooting advice, interpreting test and flight data to identify root causes.
  • Maintain the approved Part Number and Interchangeability database as per maintenance requirements.
  • Oversee subcontracted airworthiness activities to ensure compliance.
  • Investigate occurrence reports as part of the Safety Management System.
  • Focus areas include avionics systems, electrical systems, defect management, aircraft software, and modification projects.
  • Perform other airworthiness tasks as directed by the Technical Manager or Part M Manager.

Technical Services Engineer Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field or possession of a B2 License or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years in Aviation Engineering.
  • Thorough understanding of Part M/CAMO and Part 145 regulations.
  • Knowledge of UK National Airworthiness Requirements.
  • Experience in a Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization.
  • Background as a B2 licensed engineer or managing avionics in a CAMO setting.
  • Familiarity with B737CL/NG or ATR 42/72 aircraft.
  • Experience with Trax EMRO or similar maintenance software.
